Some of you may have thought what happened to Brad biking across the country next year. Well I am still planning on it. In fact since my last post I haved moved to days and was able to bike 11 miles to and from work quite a few days. Tomorrow I plan on riding from Cleveland to home as a primer for a bike trip across Ohio over thanksgiving. God has been richly blessing our lives and I credit every bit of it to prayer. Most of you know me and Tiff are very involved with our amazing church Freedom Baptist Fellowship. This has kept us very busy working with the teens, children's program, and young adults; but I wouldn't have it any other way. It has kept me from updating this much but I plan to start updating it more :)

Almost Hit 30
It's been an exciting two weeks since my last post. To summarize quickly, did a almost 30 mile bike ride to Berlin, Ohio and back ( Thought about riding up and down the road in front of our house a couple times to get 30 but felt like that would be cheating), did 20 miles to Navarre, Ohio and back yesterday, and plan on getting near 30 tomorrow.
This has been a learning process for me. I think I have learned something new every single day on the bike. My training schedule is trying to ride 15-25 miles Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and then riding a longer ride every other week on Friday starting at 30 miles and working my way up to 70 miles. I have been trying to use a lot of time on my bike to use in quiet time with God. Its amazing how little time we devote to our creator. A lot of times its because of our busy schedule or things that come up, but I encourage you find that time to spend alone with God. For me it has been riding my bike. For others it could be running, cleaning, walking, knitting, etc... Whatever it might be just make sure and take the time to do it. I end with this quote by Martin Luther:
"If I fail to spend two hours in prayer each morning, the devil gets the victory through the day. I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer. Martin Luther

MY FIRST BLOG
WELL THIS IS MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY ( I THINK THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL IT). THIS BLOG WILL MOST LIKELY EVOLVE AS THE TRIP ACROSS AMERICA DRAWS NEARER. IN FACT THIS ENTRY ITSELF WILL CHANGE AS SOON AS MY WIFE GRAMMATICALLY CORRECTS IT. :) REAL QUICK THE REASONS OR GOALS HOWEVER YOU WOULD WANT TO LABEL THEM FOR DOING THIS IS REALLY THREEFOLD.
I. TO FURTHER THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.
II. TO SEE PEOPLE USE PRAYER MORE FERVENTLY AND POWERFULLY!
III. (THE SELFISH REASONS) TO DRAW CLOSER TO THE LORD MYSELF IN MY DAILY
WALK AND PRAYER LIFE.
NOW THE FUNNY THING IS I DO NOT EVEN OWN A BIKE AT THIS TIME. ME AND MY FATHER HAVE RENTED BIKES THE LAST TWO YEARS ON VACATION AND I LOVED RIDING, THIS IS WHAT PUT THE IDEA OF RIDING ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN MY HEAD. NOW AS MOST MARRIED MEN WITH A FULL TIME JOB AND A FAMILY OF FOUR WOULD AGREE THIS WASNT HAPPENING UNTILL THE KIDS LEFT THE HOUSE. THEN THE BURDEN OF HOW MUCH WE HAVE FORSAKEN PRAYER IN THIS COUNTRY ARRIVED. WHILE READING A SHORT BOOK ON OLIVE TREE ON MY IPHONE BY R.A. TORREY CALLED "THE POWER OF PRAYER" I GOT AN INCREDIBLE BURDEN FOR PRAYER. AS I HAD READ MANY BLOGS OF PEOPLE THAT HAD RODE ACROSS AMERICA ON A BICYCLE MOST RODE FOR A CERTAIN CAUSE. THIS IS WHEN TWO AND TWO WENT TOGETHER. I DECIDED I WOULD BIKE ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR A CAUSE, THAT CAUSE BEING TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR PRAYER.
AGAIN WE COME TO THE WRENCH HOW WOULD I BE ABLE TO TAKE 40 DAYS OFF WORK AND NOT LOSE MY JOB. SO I BEGAN TO PRAY THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO TALK TO THE OWNER OF MY COMPANY BOB SHEARER ABOUT TAKING THE TIME OFF NEXT SUMMER. I MAY BLOG ABOUT THIS IN MORE DETAIL ANOTHER TIME, BUT THIS WAS THE GREATEST LESSON IN PRAYER I HAVE LEARNED IN MY 30 YEARS OF LIVING. MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN JUST ANSWERING PRAYER HE EXCEEDS OUR PRAYERS AND FULFILLS THE DESIRES OF OUR HEARTS. NOT ONLY DID BOB SHEARER GRANT ME THE TIME OFF BUT FINANCIALLY TOOK CARE OF A MAJOR PART OF THIS JOURNEY. THERE IS MUCH MORE PLANNING AND FUNDRAISING TO BE DONE.
